From Dusk to Dawn: 2021 Recap

Written by Palmetto Bluff

Dec 14, 2021

Throughout this monthly series, we’ve learned about Palmetto Bluff Conservancy Research + Education Coordinator Lydia Moore’s important work researching and studying the bats of the Bluff. We’ve dispelled myths, learned about their vital global ecological role (hint: in the United States along, bats provide a free pesticide service valued at an annual amount of $23 billion), we’ve learned about threats to bats and the essential work we can do to help them, how bats are netted, received updates from the field, and so much more.

To top it all off, our Conservancy team was featured in a piece by Garden & Gun highlighting the work Lydia and Sam are doing here at Palmetto Bluff to study and educate others about at-risk bats.

All of these can be found in our Discover Stories here, as well as linked below. We hope you’ve enjoyed the inaugural edition of From Dusk to Dawn and look forward to sharing more about our winged friends in 2022.
