Hampton Watts: Painting the South to Life

This August, Savannah-based painter Hampton Watts will join us at the Bluff to share his contemporary Southern art celebrating the landscapes, traditions, and enduring spirit of the South. 

Drawing inspiration from generations of Southern heritage, Hampton creates richly layered paintings that blend storytelling, nostalgia, and a deep connection to the Lowcountry. Through his distinctive style, Watts captures both the beauty and character of the region, inviting viewers to reflect on the people, history, and moments that shape Southern life. His work has earned recognition among collectors for its authenticity, craftsmanship, and timeless appeal. During his visit to Palmetto Bluff, guests will have the opportunity to experience his work firsthand and gain insight into the stories behind each piece.

Join acclaimed Southern heritage painter Hampton Watts for an engaging afternoon of conversation and a live demonstration at FLOW Gallery + Workshop. As he shares the inspiration behind his work, guests will gain a deeper understanding of his creative process, artistic techniques, and the Southern stories woven throughout his paintings. Watch as a painting comes to life before your eyes while hearing firsthand from the artist himself.

Spend a leisurely Sunday afternoon exploring Hampton Watts’ collection during his special gallery hours at FLOW Gallery + Workshop. Guests are invited to view and experience his paintings at their own pace, taking in the rich colors and textures and discussing the Southern narratives that define his work.
