After years of anticipation and careful stewardship, Anson Point golf course is officially open at Palmetto Bluff. This isn’t just another addition to the Lowcountry’s golf landscape; it’s a course that feels less like it was built and more like it was waiting here all along, ready to be discovered.
Designed by the legendary architects Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw, Anson Point unfolds across more than 500 acres of preserved land, honoring both the game and the place it calls home. Named after Admiral George Anson, the course carries forward a legacy of exploration, curiosity, and deep respect for the natural world.
This is Palmetto Bluff golf at its finest: where the land leads, and the design follows.

What sets Anson Point apart isn’t just the caliber of its design or the beauty of its setting; it’s the philosophy behind it. This course was intentionally designed without residential development, a rarity in luxury golf communities and a decision that speaks volumes about Palmetto Bluff’s commitment to conservation.
The Palmetto Bluff Conservancy will continue to steward the land surrounding Anson Point, ensuring that the marsh grasses, live oaks, and natural contours that make this place so breathtaking remain intact for generations. This commitment to conservation is recognition that the most authentic golf experience we can offer is one where the land remains wild, whole, and alive.

Coore and Crenshaw’s design philosophy is inspired by the belief that the course already existed long before it was conceived; it was just waiting to be discovered. The fairways follow natural ridgelines. The greens settle into existing plateaus. The grand live oaks that have stood here for centuries aren’t obstacles to play around; they’re partners in the round, shaping strategy and framing views in a way no architect could replicate.

From the first tee, you’ll feel it: this course wants you to pay attention. The course takes full advantage of Palmetto Bluff’s natural contours, rising and falling with the land, in a way that makes every hole feel distinct, yet connected.
One round might reveal the way morning light filters through the oaks, casting long shadows across the fairways. Another round might show you how the marsh grasses glow amber and copper as the day fades. The wind off the water shifts throughout the day, changing the way you approach a hole you thought you knew. This course is designed to evolve with every visit and to reward golfers who return again and again, always trying a new strategy and finding something they missed the last time.

With Anson Point now open, Palmetto Bluff offers its Members three distinct golf experiences: The Jack Nicklaus-designed May River Golf Course, the welcoming Crossroads by King-Collins, and now a Coore & Crenshaw masterpiece. It’s worth noting that Anson Point is exclusively for Palmetto Bluff Members and not open to the general public.
More broadly, Anson Point signals where Palmetto Bluff is headed: growing thoughtfully, expanding amenities without compromising the land, and always asking how we can add more without taking away what makes this place irreplaceable. Living here means access to experiences like Anson Point, courses that respect the game, the land, and the people who play them.
Access to Anson Point, along with all three of Palmetto Bluff’s golf courses, comes through Palmetto Bluff Club Membership. The Club offers more than just exceptional golf; it opens the opportunity to live in a community built around genuine connection, world-class amenities, and the kind of experiences that make living in the Lowcountry unforgettable. From golf and tennis to waterfront dining, wellness facilities, and year-round social events, membership here is about belonging to a place that understands the art of living well.
If you’re curious about what Membership at Palmetto Bluff looks like, we’d love to show you.
