Serving Up News from Wilson Lawn & Racquet

Written by Palmetto Bluff

Wilson Lawn & Racquet continues to elevate the member experience at Palmetto Bluff, with new talent, fresh programming, and memorable ways to enjoy time on the courts and lawns. From an accomplished new pickleball professional to the Club’s first croquet league and a vintage-inspired tennis social, there is plenty to look forward to in the months ahead.

Shea Donahue Joins Wilson Lawn & Racquet as Head Pickleball Professional

This August, Wilson Lawn & Racquet welcomes Shea Donahue as its new Head Pickleball Professional.

Donahue brings an impressive combination of professional playing experience, instruction, and club programming expertise to Palmetto Bluff. As a competitive pickleball player, she has competed on both the PPA and APP Tours, earning a Top 50 world singles ranking and a Top 100 world doubles ranking.

Her experience extends well beyond tournament play. Donahue has developed and led pickleball programs at private clubs and luxury resorts across the country, creating clinics, leagues, round robins, social events, tournaments, and instructional opportunities designed for players of all skill levels.

With a passion for teaching and creating engaging experiences on and off the court, Donahue will bring fresh energy to Palmetto Bluff’s growing pickleball community. We look forward to welcoming her to the team and introducing members to the expertise and programming she will bring to the courts.

Palmetto Bluff’s First Croquet League Debuts This Fall

This fall, Wilson Lawn & Racquet will introduce Palmetto Bluff’s first-ever Croquet League, offering members a new way to enjoy one of the community’s favorite lawn sports.

Set on the Club’s two pristine croquet lawns, the league will bring players together for weekly round-robin matches throughout October. With its relaxed pace and social spirit, croquet offers the perfect balance of friendly competition and camaraderie.

The season will begin with an introduction to the rules, etiquette, and league format, followed by the group draw. Whether members are experienced players or relatively new to the game, the league promises an inviting way to sharpen skills, meet fellow competitors, and enjoy fall afternoons on the lawn.

Retro Ladies’ Sip & Serve Brings Vintage Style to the Court

A little nostalgia is coming to Wilson Lawn & Racquet with Retro Ladies’ Sip & Serve, an afternoon inspired by the timeless style and social spirit of classic tennis.

Members are encouraged to embrace the occasion with retro tennis attire and vintage flair before taking to the court for round-robin match play. Partners and opponents will rotate throughout the event, creating an easygoing blend of friendly competition and camaraderie.

Once the final match is played, the afternoon will continue with post-match cocktails and time to socialize. With wooden racquets, throwback style, and plenty of tennis charm, Retro Ladies’ Sip & Serve offers a playful celebration of the traditions that have made the sport a favorite for generations.

See you on the court!

From fresh faces and new leagues to spirited social events, Wilson Lawn & Racquet is serving up plenty of ways for members to connect, compete, and enjoy Fall at Palmetto Bluff.
