The village of Wilson represents the culmination of years of study and research into the small coastal towns of the south and characteristics that made them distinct. Overlooking the river lie the ruins of R.T. Wilson Jr.’s mansion, or Palmetto Lodge, as it was known. It was built shortly after Wilson purchased the property in 1902 and it burned to the ground in 1926. Wilson Village offers a wide range of experiences; river access and activities, boat storage, the spa, a gourmet market, signature shops and restaurants, all are open to the public, and within easy walking distance of the Village Green.
