You may remember Satchel from the Culinary Festival for Music To Your Mouth. Or, from the Artisan Market at Field + Fire. You may even recognize their leather and animal hide handbags at Provisions by Palmetto Bluff.

Elizabeth Seeger Jolly, founder of Satchel, joins us on Monday, August 23rd, as the August Artist in Residence. Elizabeth created a hybrid studio and store in Savannah’s historic district specializing in handmade leather goods. From handbags and clutches to surcees and gun cases, these handcrafted goods are made right in front of customers eyes. By piecing together a customer’s favorite detailing, Satchel creates a one-of-a-kind product for each and every customer.

On Monday, Elizabeth will host a Meet + Greet at the Artist Cottage from 4 – 6 p.m. for members and guests to learn more about her craft and how Satchel came to be. Elizabeth will also host two workshops work members and guests to dive into the art of leatherworking. On Thursday, Intro to Leatherworking will teach guests how to prep, cut, sew and embellish as they fine-tune their basic leatherworking skills by creating a customized leather surcee from the Satchel line. On Friday, Leather Goods Instruction will teach guests how to create a signature Satchel braided cuff and tassel keychain with hands-on instruction using leather and brass hardware. Gallery Hours will also be hosted on Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. each day.
