Play With a Purpose

Beyond its undeniable fun factor, Palmetto Bluff Explorers connects kids to their imaginations, to each other, and to the magic of the Bluff, itself.

Start with a terrific group of kids. Add an energetic, inventive team of counselors and exciting programming. Finish with Palmetto Bluff’s magnificent land and waterways–and just press “play.” Palmetto Bluff Growing Outdoors pairs optimal engagement with immersive education in activities designed to stimulate curiosity, enhance friendships, and set young spirits soaring. Along with three distinct summer camp options, the initiative curates special holiday programming to foster fun at the Bluff all year long.

Summer Camp

Weekly themes (Ninja Warriors or Marine Mania, anyone?) are celebrated through theme-related arts & crafts, outdoor games, and thrilling field trips to kid-favorites like Defy Trampoline Park or the Coastal Discovery Museum.

Adventure Camp

Week-by-week, campers visit Palmetto Bluff properties including The Farm, Longfield Stables, and the May River Golf Course for adventures unique to each. Activities are informed by age group and boxed lunches allow participants to gobble on the go.

Naturalist Camp

Your budding Jacques Cousteaus and Henry David Thoreaus will love Mondays spent with a visiting Marine Biologist. Fascinating topics including the trees, birds and saltwater species of the Bluff will be buoyed by kayaking, boat trips, and in-the-field activities.

Holiday Happenings

Make your own snow globe at Christmas. Search for multi-colored eggs on Easter. Rule the pool over spring break. From finger painting to scavenger hunts and craft workshops, PBGO is always ready with a dose of holiday fun.

The Palmetto Playground

With 20,000 acres welcoming everyday play, spirited fun extends far beyond PBGO. Winding, shady trails encourage biking with friends. Sun-dappled waterways invite fishing and crabbing adventures. Swim fans have a choice of pools to show off their strokes and kids of all ages climb to thrilling new heights in our treehouses at Wilson and Moreland Village.

“Our counselors love to jump in on the activities and games with the kids. They’re the most important component in making our summer camp spectacular and so many of them are like returning family.”

–Jordan Bassan, Activities Supervisor
