Celebrating the spirit of Palmetto Bluff’s storied past and continuing the tradition of Southern hospitality and community connection.

It was an incredible spring-like evening for the inaugural Art of Community Gala + Auction on Saturday, February 25, 2023. Guests were dressed to the nines in the heart of Wilson Village for a night of hot jazz, cool drinks, and a swanky live auction. The evening’s Jazz Age theme paid homage to the years R.T. Wilson, Jr. and his wife Marion lived at Palmetto Bluff, taking place in the same location as the Wilson Mansion, which once hosted some of the most extravagant Southern parties in the early 1900s.

Guests will mix and mingle while enjoying cocktails, a gourmet dinner, live music from The Preservation Hall Jazz Band from New Orleans, as well as a live auction featuring incredible experiences, packages, and art from Palmetto Bluff’s Artists in Residence and FLOW Gallery + Workshop.

The Art of Community Golf Tournament

During the day, members and guests participated in a lively member-guest style shamble tournament on the May River Golf Course. Sponsored by Wheels Up, the 18-hole charity tournament included delectable bites and drinks, and fun activations all culminating in awards given at the gala that evening.

The Art of Community Live

& Silent Auction

The 2023 live and silent auction featured twelve remarkable curated experiences, incredible artwork by Palmetto Bluff’s Artists in Residence and FLOW Gallery + Workshop, as well as other generously donated items from local and regional businesses. Through generous contributions from auction donors and our community, the event raised over $170,000 that was distributed evenly to five deserving local beneficiaries, Bluffton Self Help, Boys and Girls Club of the Lowcountry, Greater Bluffton Jasper County Volunteers in Medicine, Lowcountry Foundation for Wounded Military Heroes, and Palmetto Bluff Conservancy.
