Spring 2023 Palmetto Bluff Community Update

Written by Palmetto Bluff

May 02, 2023

At Palmetto Bluff, we believe home is more than a place. The distinctive estates, homes, cottages, and homesites available here are unmatched except for the wealth of activities enjoyed across the Bluff’s storied terrain.

As the official brokerage of Palmetto Bluff – and the only one with an office inside the gates – we’re privy to the latest news and updates around the community – from the Palmetto Bluff Club and Preservation Trust (POA) to the important work the Palmetto Bluff Conservancy is doing. Progress all framed by the community’s original vision and Palmetto Bluff’s higher purpose: to allow people to experience the magic of the Lowcountry in its ultimate form.

COMMUNITY & DEVELOPMENT

Buffalos | Now in the final weeks of construction, updates to our beloved Buffalos restaurant in the heart of Wilson Village include a fully renovated interior and kitchen, a new bar area with additional seating, expanded covered outdoor dining, and a fresh new menu sure to delight!

Nine Hole Golf Course | Progress continues with irrigation and drainage installation, and sodding of the course with Northbridge bermuda grass will begin this summer. We hope to be teeing off by the end of 2023!

Anson Marina | The first phase of the marina is nearing completion, which will include fifty wet slips and a Harbormaster office. We recently received great news and approval from the Town of Bluffton for dry stack boat storage.

Palmetto Bluff Farm | Farm Manager Shane Rahn has welcomed some new residents to the farm…chickens! The new chicken coop is finished and ready for our new flock, which includes a diverse variety Plymouth Rock, New Hampshire Red, Rhode Island Red, and Leghorn chicks.

PALMETTO BLUFF CLUB

PB GO: Growing Outdoors | A newly rebranded and expanded program for Club families and children, PB GO provides creative events and classes for all age groups, including teen cooking and life skill classes, summer camps, and an upcoming meet-and -greet for children with disabilities.

Wilson Lawn & Racquet Club | Opened three new pickleball courts, bringing the total to nine.

Wilson Marina | Added a new fleet of Scout saltwater boats and new freshwater electric boat to enhance the Club’s inland waterway fleet.

PALMETTO BLUFF CONSERVANCY

Dr. Socci’sNew Book | Palmetto Bluff historian and archeologist, Dr. Mary Socci, has published a new book dedicated to the history of this special place. The highly-anticipated A Guide to the History of Palmetto Bluff will be delivered in just a few weeks.

Upcoming Events | Join the Conservancy team as they provide educational programming throughout the year across Palmetto Bluff.
