Stephanie Fees // Scratch Pasta Company

On April 5, we are excited to welcome our first April Artist in Residence, Stephanie Fees, of Scratch Pasta Company. A native of Lynchburg, Virginia, Stephanie returned to her hometown to run the kitchen at West Manor Estate, a local wedding venue, after a long career as a professional chef in New York City and West Virginia. During her time at West Manor, Stephanie had the opportunity to attend “pasta school” in Chiavari, Italy, where she studied the country’s many authentic pastas and sauces. This experience inspired her to start an artisan pasta shop in Lynchburg, bringing the art of fresh, homemade pasta back to her Southern home.

Check out the full event schedule and then stop by the Artist Cottage to chat with Stephanie, talented chef and founder of Scratch Pasta Company, at her Meet + Greet on April 5.

Dorothy Shain // Contemporary Artist

Greenville, South Carolina-based artist and creative entrepreneur, Dorothy Shain, will be moving into the Artist Cottage on April 19, bringing with her a dynamic portfolio and an exciting lineup of events. Dorothy’s work is an exploration of mediums reflective of the colors, textures, and patterns drawn from travels and adventures, revealing inspiration and influence from countless people, places, and cultures. After launching her brand in September of 2014, Dorothy’s business has continued to grow ever since, now encompassing a number of collaborations, licensing, print sales, and most recently, textiles and wallpapers. From a line of swimwear with Anthropologie to custom-designed products for SPANX, Dorothy is passionate about partnering with companies that share similar values, and most importantly, value philanthropy.

Stop by the Artist Cottage to chat with Dorothy, find pattern inspiration at Palmetto Bluff, and learn the art of abstracting reality. View the full lineup of events.
