HIKING? BIKING? GOLFING? FISHING?
What’s Your Action Verb?
Whether it is the serenity of a nature walk through the River Road Preserve, the challenge of testing your skills at the Shooting Club or the excitement in your child’s eyes when you help them catch their first largemouth bass, Palmetto Bluff offers the best outdoor experiences of the South Carolina Lowcountry. Our guides are contagious with their knowledge and passion — and driven to inspire you to immerse within the environment. Explore the Land
Take a hike or ride a bike
Palmetto Bluff’s expansive trail system provides even more opportunity to explore and discover the enormity of our 20,000 acres. Hop on a bike, ride a horse or go by foot on trails that crisscross the property and connect the residential neighborhood to parks, recreational activities and the villages. If you’re feeling adventurous — or just need to cool off — explore our water trails by kayak or canoe or take a refreshing dip in the May River.
Hunting & Shooting
The sport of sporting clays
Hunting and the shooting sports have been a long-standing tradition at Palmetto Bluff for years (if not centuries). The Palmetto Bluff Shooting Club features 13 sporting clays stations winding through an expansive 40-acre hardwood bottom. An elevated and covered five-stand station, plus a wobble deck field, makes a total of 14 shooting sites.

Racquet sports of all types
Our immaculately kept lawns are good for more than just a barefoot stroll. You’ll be happy to know we keep two pristine croquet lawns on the property at Wilson Lawn and Racquet Club — our recreational hub and perfect gathering place for friendly competition. Along with the lawns, the expansive club facility includes eight Har-Tru tennis courts, six pickleball courts, two bocce courts, four courtside shelters and a well-equipped pro shop and pavilion.
The May River’s favorite course.
You might chalk it up to mere curiosity if you wind up in a bunker at the May River Golf Course. After all, it’s not every day that you get to walk through sand from Ohio — especially when you’re golfing in the South Carolina Lowcountry. But like everything at this beautiful Jack Nicklaus Signature Course, the sand was chosen for a reason, as its angular grain adheres better to sloped surfaces and holds up to coastal weather. Of course, there’s much more than sand on this beautiful par-72 course, which weaves almost 7,200 yards along the banks of the May River.
