Introduction to Pressing Botanicals

Artist Cottage | Thursday and Friday | $275

This two-part workshop will introduce guests to the art of pressed botanicals. To begin, Anne will give a brief overview and demonstration of her process before leading a foraging walk through the grounds. Attendees will gather blooms and foliage native to Palmetto Bluff, discovering which plant material lends itself best to producing an artistically arranged pressed botanical. Back in the classroom, Anne will demonstrate more techniques for pressing as participants learn to dissect their plant material for storing in the plant presses.

On the second day, Anne will guide participants through the mounting process with dried plant materials. Each attendee will leave the workshop with an original 10" x 12” pressed botanical piece, ready for framing.

Please wear comfortable shoes for gardening.
