From the Farm: Spring Planting

Spring planting is officially complete at the Palmetto Bluff Farm. Farm manager Shane Rahn oversaw the planting of seven different fruits and vegetables for harvest by Palmetto Bluff chefs this season, as well as 1.5 acres of field corn planted in the pumpkin patch area. Keep reading for the complete list of plantings and a few behind-the-scenes photos!

Tomatoes – German Johnson, Beef Master, Better Boy, Celebrity, Sweet 100 (320 total)
Peppers – Poblano, Habanero, Jalapeno, Serrano (140 total)
Sweet Corn – Silver Queen & Jack Pot (roughly 1900 stalks)
Zucchini – Black Beauty (155 total)
Radish – White Icicle & Scarlet Globe (2 – 150’ rows)
Watermelon – Crimson Sweet & Jubilee (80 total)
Peas – Green Arrow (900 total)
