Behind the Design: Pops of Color

Written by Palmetto Bluff

Jul 20, 2020

Neutral color palettes are popular in interior design and with good reason. When a home features bright pops of color in design, it conjures unexpected excitement and intrigue.

Katie Dalzell, interior designer at Shoreline Construction, knows a thing or two about weaving bright accent colors throughout her interior design projects. Her latest project on Vinson Road in Palmetto Bluff has the perfect neutral color palette to dress up with pops of bright color in accessories, fixtures, tile, and even appliances.

La Cornue stove

The La Cornue stove is a statement piece in the kitchen. The pop of color demands attention to its handcrafted details.

Powder Bath

The powder bath is dripping with detail. The texture, play on patterns with the stacked linear tile, and bold printed wallpaper offers a sleek modern style.

Rustic Wood Toned Ceiling

The rustic wood-toned ceiling with crisp white beams works well with the mirrored lighting fixture to reflect the natural color palette.

The pop of pattern and color on the shower tile floor, complemented by quiet walls, cabinetry, and countertops, sets the tone for the space.

Pretty In Pink

Pretty in pink: a cozy throw brightens the soothing color palette in this guest bedroom.

Boys Room

The boys’ room includes pops of orange accents in the fox pillow and lamp to finish out the design of this world traveler’s bedroom.

Guest Suite

The guest suite is full of symmetry: black-and-white balance with a splash of color and whimsy on the throw pillow.

Family Room

The family room includes rustic fixtures, like the tabby fireplace with rustic beam, or the mantel, mixed with sleek and contemporary built-ins to display art and other collectibles.
