FRIDAY | BUFFALO BLAST LUNCH
James Beard–nominated Pitmaster Hector Garate of Palmira Barbecue, alongside Chef de Cuisine Greg De Franco, is redefining Southern barbecue by blending Texas and Carolina traditions with Puerto Rican influences. The nationally acclaimed concept has earned honors from Southern Living, The New York Times, and Texas Monthly. Hector and his team will bring their bold, fire-driven flavors to the Buffalo Blast for a special barbecue lunch.
FRIDAY | FIELD + FIRE DINNER GUEST CHEF
Merci is a European-inspired bistro in downtown Charleston, owned by husband-and-wife team Chef Michael “Chef Mike” Zentner and Courtney Zentner, known for its intimate, seasonally driven menu. Since opening in March 2025, the restaurant has earned national attention, including a James Beard Foundation Best New Restaurant nomination. Chef Mike will bring his ingredient-forward approach to Field + Fire as a special guest chef.
Kick off the weekend celebrations Thursday evening from 5:00 to 7:00pm in the FLOW Gallery courtyard in Wilson Village. March Artist in Residence, sculptor, and SEWE favorite Chris Wilson will be on-site demonstrating his woodworking craft as guests enjoy light fare and beverages beneath the live oaks, overlooking the May River.
Set within Palmetto Bluff’s 120-acre private, members-only Shooting Club, the Buffalo Blast invites participants to test their skill and camaraderie on a world-class sporting clays course that winds through plantation pine and hardwood bottom ecosystems. For this special event, exclusive access is extended to participants—a rare opportunity to experience this premier facility while supporting a great cause. Teams of four will compete in one of two rounds of a 100-target, 12-station tournament designed for all experience levels, from seasoned marksmen to first-time participants. Rounds will begin at 7:30AM and 10:30AM and will last approximately 2.5 hours. Registration will open 30 minutes prior to each start time.
Following the competition, guests will gather to enjoy handcrafted barbecue from Charleston’s Palmira Barbecue, created by James Beard Emerging Chef nominee Hector Garate, making the day as memorable off the course as it is on.
With $50 from each registration benefiting the Palmetto Bluff Conservancy, every shot helps support vital conservation efforts at the Bluff.
An intimate outdoor dining experience set amid the rustic beauty of The Farm, Field + Fire invites guests to an elevated evening of inspired cuisine and Palmetto Bluff hospitality.
Guests will gather under the stars as a lineup of some of the South’s most celebrated culinary talents collaborate on a one-of-a-kind menu, each chef bringing a unique perspective to the table. James Beard Award–winning Chef Mike Lata, founder of Charleston’s iconic FIG and The Ordinary, will cook alongside Palmetto Bluff Club Executive Chefs Rhy Waddington and Beth Cosgrove, joined by two-time James Beard Award nominee Chef Jacques Larson (Wild Olive, The Obstinate Daughter, and the forthcoming Lester’s in Savannah) and Chef Michael and Courtney Zentner of Charleston’s Merci, recently nominated for Best New Restaurant by the James Beard Foundation.
Following dinner, guests will enjoy an intimate musical performance by Grammy-nominated musician Grace Potter, providing a soulful finale to an unforgettable evening.
