TO PRESERVE AND PROTECT

MOTHER NATURE HAD IT RIGHT FROM THE START

One important aspect of the Palmetto Bluff Conservancy is to manage the property such that it will maintain and enhance its biodiversity. For thousands of years this land has been managed. Hunted for food; burned - incidentally or deliberately; timbered for wood; manipulated by man. These efforts continue under the management of the Palmetto Bluff Conservancy, even in many areas which are rarely visited, such as conservation areas, nature preserves, interpretive trails, wetlands and pre-development locations. Management goals vary depending on specific habitats and the species which live there. Our goals are simple: to maximize the diversity of this landscape and our wildlife. As development occurs, we shift to protect and restore. We vary our techniques but the goal remains the same.
