A vast outdoor classroom exists right outside our doors. Learning is easy; experiences profound. We hope to be ambassadors to each of our owners, introducing them to this landscape in ways both large and small, structured and informal. Quite simply, we want our owners to see this majestic land as we see it, a bountiful playground full of wonder and life.
Tours, classes and workshops, programs, research, and field trips are all available to facilitate this environmental learning process. As a property owner, you might take a wildlife educational class such as the Habitat Review Workshop to learn about the many wild species living at Palmetto Bluff. Learn about our variety of habitats, from swamps to fields, and their importance for wildlife and people. Become a backyard naturalist learning everything from native gardening, to medicinal uses of local fauna. Get out on the water to learn about our dynamic coastal ecosystem or become a River Steward to help protect our waterways. Learn environmental stewardship and sustainable design for the home. Participate in astronomy, archeology, history and cultural workshops. Whether through birdwatching, hiking, or just sitting on your front porch, our vision is to bring the outdoors into your life through expert education and experience.
