The May River Golf Course meanders – through a magnificent Lowcountry forest, along its namesake river, and through bunkers and hazards of every description. It’s much like golf itself, where one’s game meanders from highs to incomprehensible lows. Keeping golfers on the high road is Head Golf Professional Greg Wrobel. A patient student of the game and human nature his is a nurturing approach designed to keep spirits high and shots long and straight.

Designed to challenge golfers of all skill levels, the May River Golf Course meanders through the May River Forest and features wide, inviting fairways with strategic bunkers and natural waste areas. Champion Bermuda greens, well guarded by white-sand bunkers, test your nerves, while gently undulating slopes challenge your putting skills. All tee boxes and fairways feature Paspalum, the newest eco-friendly turf. Head Golf Professional Greg Wrobel is your conductor as you test your skills and wits on this 18-hole Jack Nicklaus Signature Course.

As the Head Golf Professional for May River Golf Club, Greg Wrobel guides a golfer’s journey. His role includes day to day operations of the Club - making tee times, placing special merchandise orders, organizing member events and tournaments, and handling special golf requests. As a PGA professional, one of Greg’s main focuses is golf instruction, providing private lessons, clinics, group lessons, a three-hour intensive learning program, and two and three day golf schools.

Greg is a Certified PGA Professional in General Management as well as Golf Instruction. His background includes working with the high-end membership at Blackwolf Run in Kohler, Wisconsin as well as the Pinehurst Resort and Country Club in North Carolina. Greg is also trained as a golf fitness instructor by the Titleist Performance Institute.
